Sian Zeng was born in China and moved to Hungary with her parents when she was seven. She graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2009 with a BA in Textile Design and has since created her own collection of fabrics, illustrated stuffed bears and wallpapers as well as having designed several bespoke client led projects. Her work is often inspired by her own fairy-tale-like narratives which she uses to create surface designs and illustrations. In 2008 she was awarded the William Atkinson scholarship by Central Saint Martins for her designs on Little Red Riding Hood in 2010/2011 the Elle Decoration young talent of the year award by the Elle Decoration Hungary. This year her wallpaper collection was selected by Heal's as part of the Heal's Christmas Picks. With her passion for 'crazy' stories and beautiful patterns, Sian continues to explore the possibilities of new and traditional technology to create narrative led surfaces for quirky interiors.
