About the Handmade Christmas pop-up shop

The Handmade Christmas pop-up shop started in 2010 with a very successful event organised by and hosted at the chocolate creative home/studio in South London. This year we have the following designers taking part: chocolate creative, Kate Clarke, Marian Lynch of thecolourhouse, Tina Götschi of tomfoolery and Sian Xeng.

Our unifying ethos is an emphasis on handmade and sustainable products. We are all based around London with varied backgrounds in design, art, printmaking, textiles and interiors.

Products on sale include beautiful handmade homewares such as cushions, prints, tea towels, wallpaper and bone china mugs, accessories including scarves and zippered purses as well as soft toys, Christmas decorations, cards and gift tags.

The popup shop promises to have a festive atmosphere and will be a great social event and an opportunity to meet and talk to the designers themselves. Come and browse the beautiful products and find a perfect and unique Christmas gift for friends and family while enjoying some home baked delicacies and a glass of mulled wine.

chocolate creative

chocolate creative is a London based boutique home wares and accessories brand focused on sustainable, hand-made design products, combining traditional skills such as cross stitch and embroidery with silk screen printing, inspired by traditional crafts, antiques, vintage textiles and images. Products are: cushions, prints, bone china mugs, tea towels, tote bags and others. There are 4 distinct collections, namely Decayed Glamour, Cameos, Messages and Children, which make up the brand.
The hand made collections use a long crafted process, from the drawing of the designs to the silk screen printing to the sewing. Because of the nature of the process, colors and patterns may vary from item to item.

Kate Clarke

Kate Clarke is a London based designer who creates a unique range of hand screen-printed home ware products. Her fresh, bold and colourful designs have a contemporary feel with a retro twist.

Kate's work is originally created by cutting out various paper shapes which she then uses to design unique patterns and illustrations. Her work reflects her love of textile and pattern design. She is particularly influenced by Scandinavian, Japanese and 1950's textiles.

Inspired by her passion for product and packaging design and having worked as a book cover designer for 10 years she has now launched a collection of interior products, guaranteed to brighten any home.

Marian Lynch

Marian Lynch of thecolourhouse produces a range of individual scarves using skilled textile processes including shibori, devoré and sublimation printing in tactile hemps, silk satins and fleece. Hand printed organic, fair trade cotton tea towels and aprons will also be available this season through Handmade Christmas Pop-up Shop.
